Biography

Vladimir Redzic is a New York City based jazz guitarist and bandleader known for his lyrical phrasing, refined tone, and deep connection to the tradition. Born in Belgrade, Serbia in 2000, he developed an early passion for music that would eventually guide him toward an international career. His playing reflects a balance of technical precision and expressive nuance, shaped by his idols Grant Green and Kenny Burrell.

Redzic established himself as an active and respected musician in Toronto, Canada, performing at notable venues such as Jazz Bistro, The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar, The Pilot and Koerner Hall. During this time, he became known for his versatility as a sideman working with musicians such as Ale Nuñez, Jacob Chung, Neil Swainson and Adam Arruda.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in music from Humber College and a Master’s degree from New York University. His studies were shaped by mentorship from respected musicians, including Ben Bishop, Lucian Gray, Trevor Giancola, Ron McClure, Rich Perry and Joey Goldstein. His studies at New York University were guided by Peter Bernstein, whose influence can be heard in his mature harmonic approach and strong sense of swing. He is also an alumnus of the Tribeca Jazz Institute, directed by saxophonist Grant Stewart. Where he undertook advanced studies with world-renowned jazz musicians including Ken Peplowski, Grant Stewart, Jon-Erik Kellso, Pasquale Grasso, Chris Byars, among others.

Vladimir Redzic's debut album First Time Around is now available on all major streaming platforms and for purchase, featuring acclaimed New York City musicians Steve Little, Steve Ash, Neal Miner, Ale Nuñez and Toronto-based Jonathan Meyer. Mixed and mastered by Grammy Award winning engineer Chris Allen, the record is a personal collection of jazz standards and original compositions that reflects Redzic's love for the tradition and his unique voice as an artist.

In 2026, Redzic toured Armenia with the Inside the Bridge cultural exchange project.

His second album, featuring drummer Phil Stewart, bassist Paul Sikivie, and pianist Tardo Hammer, will be released in Spring 2027 under the Cellar Live record label.
